The national rating “Ukraine’s Charity Compass” (Charity compass Ukraine) is an additional marketing tool that will facilitate communication between Ukrainian charitable organizations and potential foreign donors, make fundraising activities of organizations more transparent and successful, and show the effectiveness of charitable organizations in handling the funds raised.

Dear colleagues!
Today, more than ever, it is critical for charitable organizations to confirm openness, transparency in financial reporting, and confirmation of the organization’s efficiency with the funds raised, which is the key to trust between society and philanthropists. Charity compass Ukraine is a social sphere that has been developing steadily and dynamically in the country for more than 30 years since Ukraine regained its independence.

Today, Ukrainian charities and philanthropy includes more than twenty thousand registered charitable foundations, nearly two hundred and ten thousand non-profit organizations, tens of thousands of informal volunteer communities, and millions of citizens who either directly participate in these activities or support charitable organizations with their in-kind or monetary contributions. Foreign charitable foundations traditionally participate in the annual process of open rating of charitable organizations. Therefore, based on current international practice and for the sake of forming a virtuous domestic charitable environment, the All-Ukrainian Charitable Organization “Association of Charities of Ukraine” launched a national project in mid-2022: The Charity compass Ukraine.

National rating “Compass of Ukrainian Charity”

This is a public rating of charitable organizations that are officially registered in Ukraine, operate in accordance with the current legislation, publicly publish their reports and are present on the Internet. The rating of charitable and non-governmental organizations within the framework of the Ukraine’s Сharities Marketplace Compass project is aimed at creating an open system of public evaluation of their activities, the possibility of public confirmation of their transparency and accountability, and proof of the effectiveness of their work with the funds raised. Thanks to the Charity compass Ukraine, charitable and non-governmental organizations receive a “star of trust” from the society for their further transparent and effective work, for raising public awareness of their activities, for finding additional resources and increasing funding for their charitable programs. Over the two less than two years of the Rating’s existence, more than twenty Ukrainian charitable organizations have received nominee certificates. For more details https://compass.vboabu.org.ua
