💙💛 Dear friends, we are pleased to announce that applications for the 18th National Competition ‘Charitable Ukraine-2024’ are now open.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Morgan Williams (1939-2024), President and Executive Director of U.S.-Ukraine Business Council, who passed away on June 8, 2024.
For many years, Mr. Williams helped Ukraine, which he loved with all his heart. He was a true friend who championed Ukrainian culture in the United States for decades. The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) is a member of Association of Charities of Ukraine. In 2018 Mr. Williams received a special award from the National Competition “Charitable Ukraine” for his outstanding contribution to the preservation of national heritage and support of cultural projects.
Mr. Morgan supported various cultural projects in Ukraine. He organized a concert dedicated to 100th anniversary of the National Bandura Choir and owned a large collection of artworks related to Holodomor and Genocide of Ukrainians. He actively exhibited these works not only in Ukraine but also abroad. Exhibitions were held in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, America and other countries. In such a way, he emphasized the importance of our culture and history and the need to preserve the memory of those tragic pages.
He will be remembered as a brilliant personality, true American patriot, proud son of Kansas and a loyal friend of his native country, Ukraine.

He started his activities in Ukraine in 1992 as a senior advisor to a large food system development project, working with American agricultural companies. In 1997 through 1999, he was the President of a Private Company in Kyiv that financed agriculture.
For almost thirty years he worked in international economic and business development sector. Mr. Williams holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from the University of Ottawa (Kansas).
Morgan Williams was the founder and publisher of the “Action Ukraine” (AUR) Report, an electronic news and information service that has been distributed worldwide for the past several years. Under Mr. Williams’ leadership, USUBC has helped to attract U.S. investment into Ukrainian economy, promoted best business practices, improved bilateral trade and investment conditions and contributed a lot to building strong and friendly ties between two countries.

The national rating “Ukraine’s Charity Compass” (Charity compass Ukraine) is an additional marketing tool that will facilitate communication between Ukrainian charitable organizations and potential foreign donors, make fundraising activities of organizations more transparent and successful, and show the effectiveness of charitable organizations in handling the funds raised. “People’s Philanthropist” is one of the special nominations of the National Contest “Charitable Ukraine”. The People’s Philanthropist is unique in that both the nomination and evaluation of nominees for this title are delegated by Ukrainians. (more…)

On Wednesday, June 21, Planmeca medical company donated five mobile dental clinics to Ukraine to provide dental services to affected by the war people who do not access to dental care. The mobile clinics have up-to-date equipment. (more…)
